How does it work without a database

What kind of database is used on the server?
I understand that is uses Access to keep inventory of my products on my computer, but what is going on on the server side?
Would you please clarify.

Actinic keeps product and price information in files like A0001.cat. It also creates .session and .ord files for sessions and orders. .fil files have other information. Everything is in a flat file.

As Bob has already said, everything is in ordinary flat files on the server. All information useful to getting indexed by search engines is in the static html pages uploaded to the server. This is one of the great strengths of Actinic making it very search engine friendly.
