    shipping charges

I am adding shipping charges to my items but they are different ie some items are free shipping, some are £4 and others £2.50. How do I set it so that the most expensive gets chosen for the shipping charge but not sum up the individual charges?

    For example:
    item A shipping is£4
    item B is £2.50
    item C is £2.50

If someone orders B &C together then the total charge would be £2.50

If someone orderd A on its own it would be £4

    If someone ordered A, B & C it would be £4

    Hi,

The way to do this is to set your shipping charges by weight. For example, you could set the following weights for your products:

    Type A = £4 - weight = 1,000 kg
    Type B = £2.50 - weight = 10kg
    Type C = Free (I presume you meant this) - weight = 0.25kg

Your shipping grid would look something like:

    Weight...........................Cost
    9.99...............................£0.00
    999.99...........................£2.50
    1,000.............................£4.00

Set the 'Excess' to 'Take the highest value in the table'.

So, if a customer ordered any item C (up to 36 of these) shipping would be free, however if they also bought any item B, the cost would be £2.50 and if item A was also purchased the cost would be £4.

The weights may need to be tweaked if you decide that if a customer buys more that say 10 of item C they would have to pay a cost but the above should give a basic idea of what you need to do.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks for that - I have a wee bit of work to do by the look of it!
