    Server problems

Some of our clients have had to be moved to another server.

The simple thing we thought was to copy the files over, then get them to do a full refresh.

But now our clients are having problems doing full refreshes, some of them can't even open thier actinic, due to thier brochure.fil files dissapearing, also a number of other issues, though the clients have not changed any of thier actinic at all, we advised them to leave it alone and then do a full refresh when we were finished.

Has anyone else ever had problems when changing actinic sites over to different servers???????

Copy the files over? - do you mean copy the files from 'acatalog' folder to 'acatalog' folder? The problem with this is there is no guarantee that the new 'acatalog' directory will have the permissions required for the Perl to be able to add/modify the content of the 'acatalog' folder (i.e. create session files/order files etc.).

You would really need to not bother copying the contents of the 'acatalog' folder over and just concentrate on doing the refresh from the PC. Check the new server is compatable by clicking the 'Test' button in 'Advanced | Network Setup'. If there is a problem, then run the 'Configure Web SIte Details' wizard to generate a new set of network settings.

When you are sure the server is ready to go, do the 'Web | Refresh Website'.
