    Shopping Cart Formatting

I want to format my shopping basket. I have successfully altered the buttons by going into the Act_shoppingcart.html page. I have altered the background colours of the cart table by going into Design Options Colours. What I want to try and do is change the header text to white and simplify the cart so that each product is only shown on one line (rather than two at present). I would also like to add an image into the cart next to each product line.

I have searched the knowledgebase and found someone saying that the cart summary is located within the Act_Primary or Act_Header. However I havn’t found this to help me with the problems above. Some help would be most appreciated, as always…

The template for the shopping cart table is Act_ShoppingCartXML.html. It is a straight HTML table and pretty straighforward to customise.
so that each product is only shown on one line (rather than two at present).
Do you mean that the choices/options for the product are on the second line? There is no way around this I'm afraid - they are held as a separate record in the shooping cart file.
I would also like to add an image into the cart next to each product line
Norman Rouxel has written a little patch to do this, which you can get about half-way down http://www.rouxel.cwc.net/actinicstuff.html.

Chris, how do http://www.cyan-teak-furniture.com/a...l_parasol.html get their cart to look like this then with just the colour listed in one block.
        Thanks

The only special thing that Cyan have done is include images in the shopping cart (very nice it looks too).

Norman has instructions for this on his site at http://www.rouxel.cwc.net/actinicstuff.html.

Just had a lok at Cyan. Very clean and nice. They've got my "images in the search results patch" too and have these laid out in columns, again for a very neat layout.

I wondered if it was the Norman images routine. This site gets rid of that spare quantity listing of the component that Nat wants to do, so will that sort out her problem?

Thanks now will look at Norman's routine in more detail.

I am very impressd with Norman's shopping cart image program and am considering implementing the same.

However my knowledge of perl is non existent consequently to follw his intructions can somebody advise of a simple perl script editor that I could use to carry out the changes in the perl files.

                Thanks

It just needs a plain text editor. Do not use any fancy editors (like Word) for example.

I use EditPad Lite (www.editpadlite.com) but Notepad (which is part of Windows) will do the job as well.
