Google not indexing pages

Hi,

Have recently got my sites homepage indexed by google, but the rest of the pages have not been indexed yet and this is the second time the googlebot has accessed my site.

There is a sitemap on every page and 2-3 sets of hyperlinks for navigation etc.. and also a home page link on every page....have recently got some sites linking back but they are not showing up in the google search bar as backlinks yet...

I have also used a .htaccess for pointing the domain name to the root (acatalog) folder and wondered if this might have affected it even though people say it is not seen as a redirect....

Is this normal or is there something obviously wrong?

I wouldn't start worrying yet.

Google will often take several visits before it fully indexes your site and even then it can take a while before the results appear in the search results.

Backlinks only show up after google re-indexes the backlinks (this may take 6 weeks or more) and even then only links from a page with a PR of close to 5 or above will be shown.


So far, everything sounds normal to me.
