thank you for your offer, Jenny, though hopefully no need to trouble you.

I've changed the Theme from Curves to Clean Layout01 and colour scheme from Blue Sky to Amazon and the background image shows through! Perhaps backgrounds only work with clean layouts - if so wish actinic would tell us!
