swopping actinic from pc to pc

Version 6.1.3, moving from W98SE, to WXP.

I'd like to be able to say the words actinic, smoothly, no problems at all in the same sentence tomorrow.

    Here's the process to follow:

    1) Install 6.1.3 on your XP machine. Preferably a full version - downloaded from http://support.actinic.com/versions/.

    2) In your W98 machine, got to 'File | Snapshot | Export Site' to export a snapshot.

    3) On you XP machine, go to 'File | Snapshot | Import Site' to import the snapshot.

    4) Go to 'Advanced | Network Setup' and click 'Test' to make sure there are no connection problems.

    5) Do a full site preview and have a good look around, checking for missing images etc.

    6) Go to 'Web | Refresh Website'.

Just done everything, but no orders have been transferred over, incomplete, or completed.

Thought everything was going too smoothly! Ay ideas?

        Hi George

When you import the snapshot, make sure you tick Overwrite all target orders, then you will get the order comes through on the snapshot.

Please note though, that if have some orders on that pc, then it will be overwritten

        Kind Regards

          Thanks Chris, Nadeem.

Next step is that when running the Advanced Network Setup Test. The test seems to `hang` and not complete. I've tried checking/unchecking the Passive FTP Checkbox. The test email arrives okay...

Seems to have come okay. Use Passive Transfer, ticked, Ignore Passive Errors unticked.

Leave Actinic for 5 mins and it should eventually time out and give a message about why it was having trouble.

As you are testing the same server as you had already been uploading to, my suspicion is that it is a firewall/network problem. Check this by disabling any firewall software for the duration of the test and see if it still hangs.

Test gives the okay, can download and upload orders, not always smoothly mind you, usual problem. BUT cannot fully refresh, hangs, freezes, then eventually times out. Even disconnecting the connection and reconnecting does not complete the job.

Some customers with this issue have been helped by applying the registry edits suggested in:

Also searching google for 'MTU site:microsoft.com' provides a number of related pages.

Let me know how you get on.
