Temp Remove Orders

I need to send a snapshot of my site back to my developer to have some fixes done on it. However what I would like to do is remove the orders from the file as obvioulsy this information is private to our business. I really need to be able to put these orders back after the alteration for historical sales reports etc. Is this possible??

Hi Steve,

You cannot physically remove the order tables from the snapshot but if you go into 'Help | Troubleshooting' there is an option to create a 'Support Snapshot', which will basically encrypt the shopper details and remove the credit card numbers. You could send this to your developer. When you get the snapshot back and import it into your software ensure that you do not tick the 'Overwrite all orders in the target installation' box during the 'Wizard' to keep your order history in-tact.

If you are using the Business software and have customer accounts set up, you will also have to export them before you import the snapshot (File | Export | Customer Accounts). This is because creating a support snapshop will encrypt these details too. After importing the snapshot you will then have to import the Customer Accounts (File | Import | Hierarchical File). Set it to 'Replace' the existing data and you will get your customer accounts back as they were.
