    Updating Website question

I've just changed the weight on 1 single product on my website and then done web update website - when it's doing this process is seems to be sending every file again rather like a complete refresh rather than just the one that has been amended.

Can anyone explain why this is. I've noticed that sometimes it will just update the one product but more often than not it seems to send every file.

    Is this right?

    Thanks

    Hi Kathy.

It is worth checking that the time and date on your machine and the server are correct. If there is a difference, Actinic could assume that a refresh is required.

    Hope this helps.

Do you get an error when attempting to upload or download? Perhaps something similar the one I'm getting here: http://community.actinic.com/showthr...&threadid=6532

If the clocks are out - which is the preferable way?

No getting no error messages at all.

We have found out though that we have an issue with our server - everything that is running a script is at a crawl pace - and doing updates we are getting timed out errors alot - so maybe this is something to do with it?

I am guessing at the moment, but I do not think this would cause it to refresh each time. I would suggest checking the time on the server, as if this is wrong it can cause problems with shopping carts expiring prematurely.

You can check the time by Ftp'ing to thesserver and uploading a test file on which can can check the date/time.

            Hope this helps.
