no email alert when order placed

Up until Friday 31st Jan we received an email alerting that a new order had been placed on our site.

On Saturday 1st onwards we have not. No settings appear to have been changed.

On performing a test on the Network Settings we received the known error (computer specified is invalid etc).

I made time to install patch to V6.02 and went through the test again, and still received the above error.

Has this happened to anyone else??

    Thanks

EDIT: Customers do not receive an Actinic generated email either.

If you've not changed anything (or had a wierd crash) then talk to your service provider as this looks like an external problem.

Tell them you have Perl script using SMTP to send e-mails out. Ask them if they've changed anything recently (like requiring authenticated SMTP).

      FIXED

thanks Norman, after conferring with Tracey at Actinic, you have both advised that the host is the problem.

After contacting Donhost, they advised replacing "mail.isp.co.uk" with "localhost".

      THIS WORKS, WOOHOO!

Sorry, been a bit of a stressful day with this problem

Hope this helps others in the future.
