    Setting up product volumes/prices

    Hi All,

First time post. I'm a little concerned that there might be an easy way to do this with choices/components etc, but i've tried a lot of different combinations going back several weeks without success. I always seem to send up with one actual product price and several check boxes for the other choices I want.

We sell liquid products (essential oils), of 100 different varieties, in 3 or 4 different volumes, 5ml, 10ml, 30ml (and soon larger volumes).

At the moment, it seems we have a very inelegant solution in that every single 'choice' is a separate product (oh, sorry and we also offer Cobalt blue glassware on every product for a small supplement just to complicate things further, though manages to sus the compenent bit for this).

I'd like to have 'Oil A', brief description, etc, and then an appropriate number of boxes underneath showing volumes and prices where customers could choose say 1x 5ml and 2x 10ml of 'Oil A'. (Some customers order more than one of each size of a particular oil).

Hope this makes sense. I'm basically looking to 'self-contain' each oil in its own little area with the different volume choices/prices therein.

    Have a look at:

if you have time and you'll see what I mean

    Many thanks

    Hi,

If you want the quantity field to appear on the product page for your choices, you would be better using Norman Rouxel’s NorMatrix, which you can get from here .

The way to set up your options within Actinic (but without having the quantity on the page for each option) would be to:

    1. Set your catalog tree in the following way:

    Product
    --Component (Options)
    ------Attribute (Size)
    ---------Choice (5ml)
    ---------Choice (10ml)
    ---------Choice (30ml)
    ------Attribute (Cobalt Blue Bottle)
    ---------Choice (Yes)
    ---------Choice (No)

    2. Double-click on the Component and then on the ‘Permutations’ tab. Click on the ‘Fill-List’ button.

    3. Complete the ‘Price’ column for each permutation and click ‘OK’

    4. In the product itself, set the ‘Components | Pricing Model’ to ‘Sum of Components Prices’ and click ‘OK’.

    5. Double-click on each attribute and choose the ‘Select Using’ option for the display you want (ie drop down list, radio buttons or push buttons).

The costs will have to be added either to the drop-down list 'HTML for Name' or the product description.

    I hope this helps.

      Hi Tracey,

Permutations. Hmmmmm, about the only thing I haven't amateurishly fiddled with in Actinic Catalog, and the very thing that seems to be what I needed to fiddle with!
That Normatrix looks excellent, (how do people know all this stuff?), and I think that's where we'll head when the new version of Actinic arrives and we have a bit of a site overhaul!
      Many thanks
