Login at index page

I want the members to my site be able to login on the index page.
Is it possible to have the Login Info ( User name & password )
entered at index page? ( not upon entry or at login page but at index page )
I want everyone be able to browse my site with or without login in.
What I am really asking is there a way if the customer wants to login they can by doing it right there on the index page???
