Questions on Cart/Checkout pages

Greetings All.

I am running into a couple of headaches on one of the sites I am currently developing, http://www.earthsleep.com

I am in the middle of tweaking the cart and checkout pages and apparently the footerguide and simplesearch netquotevars don't work on the confirmation and checkout pages.

This screws up the layout a bit since the footerguide is an important part of the layout. I am sure i can get the search to appear using some parlor tricks, but I am lost on the footerguide as the links change depending on the section of the site.

I could set a static size for the area with the footerguide so the layout does not change, but that space would still be empty. And since the area in question is controlled by act_primary.html, I doubt I would be able to insert a generic set of links that only appear on those pages.

Any ideas would be helpful. Feel free to visit the site and add something to the cart to see my dilema. Keep in mind that the site is about 60% complete, so some areas may look wierd.

Hi,

The way around your problem would be to use a different primary template for your checkout pages and hard-code the links (copy the generated code from one of your product pages). Replace NETQUOTEVAR:FOOTERGUIDE with this code. Select the template in 'Design | Options | Layouts | Checkout Pages Layout'.

If you want the same on the confirmation page, use the checkout template for the 'Default Overall Layout' and then select the normal primary template for each top-level section (if you have sub-sections, set to 'Use Parent' and they will use the layout of the parent section).
