    Network sharing problem

    Hi,

I use an Access software based on the 'Actinic Catalog.mdb' file generated by Actinic v6.

So I use to have actinic running at the same time as this Access Application (that is reading the 'Actinic Catalog.mdb' file through the network). It was working fine at the beginning when my operating System was Windows XP Home.

I just installed Windows XP Pro this morning and now when Actinic is running (on this XP Pro system) the Access Application can't read the 'Actinic Catalog.mdb' file through the network, it says : "The file is already in use". When I close Actinic, it works.

    It must be a security/permissions problem ?

    Thank you for your help

Possibly, but check if there is an *.ldb (Access lock file) present when Actinic is closed down. If there is, try sending the ldb to the recycle bin.

Access is not designed as a multi user database, it is really only for a singe user at a time.

    Hope this helps.
    Darren
