    Complex Shipping

    Hi,

I have been working on moving out of our catalogs from fixed shipping costs to weight based and I'm happy with the results, but there is one thing i'd like to do to make it perfect and I can't see any way of doing it...

I'd like to be able to have both weight and cost based pricing working together so that orders over a certain value would use a different set of shipping prices to include a levvy for recorded/special delivery rather than standard royal mail prices.

Is this possible? If it isn't could such a system be added to the wishlist please.

This is unfortunately one of the limitations. You can make specific products have a different shipping rate by giving them unusual weights. For instance if I wanted to ship all telephones for free, I could set them all with a weight of 0 and have a shipping class with a weight of 0 and a cost of 0. This is about as far as you go.

I will add your request to the wishlist.

The only other solution I managed to come up with (which i'm now using) is that using the discounts tab, all orders over £55 have a £0.65 surcharge added for recorded delivery. Although it's not ideal because it means that the surcharge will probably still be added for courier deliery, it's better than nothing.
