2 for1 offer

Each month, we do a special offer of order two (different) products, and get the cheapest one free. Both products are in the same section of the catalogue.

(The next month, we do the same, but with a different catalogue section.)

An acceptable alternative would be to set a 50% discount on the products in that section (for this month)..... but only apply it if two (or more) products are ordered at the same time. (Problem then... is showing the 50% discounted price, rather than the full price and people ordering just one).

Is there a way of doing what we need within Actinic?

I'm afraid you cannot do this at the moment, with version 6 of Actinic. However this feature will be available in the next major release.

A thought.... can you make it possible to "tag" products (or sub sections) that are eligible for the 2 for 1 offer, rather than make it global?

That would be the ideal.

Yes, but the feature to do this sort of discount will only be available in Actinic Business.
