Zonealarm

Any idea why I'm having to disable Zonealarm to upload sites but not to download orders? All 4 boxes in Zonealarm for Catalog.exe have a green tick.

Something strange is going on with your settings.

I have Zonealarm and it works fine with catalog being given access to the network only. i.e. it has no need to act as a server.

the only thing I can think of is that it's an earlier version of catalog that you've given access rights to and that the current version has no access rights.

Try making sure that 'automatic lock' is set to 'off' and then try to start up actinic and do an update. Zonealarm should ask whether you want a program to have access before blocking it.

Thanks. Tried that - not for the first time - and it hangs now when it gets to the first base file upload. Maybe I need a new version of Zonealarm. I think it started doing this when I upgraded to XP.

Just a thought - is your XP firewall also enabled (LAN Connection Properties)?

Or ICS (Internet Connection Sharing). Zonealarm standard (the free version) won't work properly with ICS or the XP firewall.

Thanks both (Ben and Mike). XP firewall is enabled so I'll check if that's the problem.
