Discount Exceptions

We are using order value discounts at two levels - 5% for order values over £X and 10% over £Y. This is applied using the discount facility and setting the options to:

Percentage of Cart Value Excluding Tax.

However, we have some optional components for some products which shouldn't really have the discount applied to them when selected, even though the base product should.

Does anyone know of a way of excluding certain items from being included in this calculation?

If not, could it be a facility to add to the wishlist please, e.g. a tick-box on products that says "exempt from discounts"?

You are right in that there is no way to exclude certain products from the discount.

However, in the next major release you will be able to group your products into 'product groups' and then apply discounts only on certain groups of products.

I can't tell you when it's going to be released, but the public beta program will be starting shortly, and news about the new features is imminent.
