    Newbie question about templates

    Hi All,

I am working on coding up a design I have been given. Here is where I am up to now: http://mrsbrowns.smzone.co.uk/acatalog/

All going fairly smoothly but am stuck on something now - an 'About Us' page - see top link. It does not go anywhere at the moment.

But this is how it should look:
    http://mrsbrowns.smzone.co.uk/AboutUs.jpg

Obviously I cannot use the normal brochure pages as there are images and this background image.

Whats the best way to go about this?
Can I create a page based on the Act_Primary file so that I have control over the central area?

    Many thanks
    Dominic

You can include the contents of an HTML fle into the actinic templates.

This is described as one of the options here:http://community.actinic.com/showthr...=&threadid=916

      Thanks Mike

Only thing is, regards the following quote on a post on that thread:

If you want to design your own pages but include them in a brochure style page you can do this by creating the main part of the page in the way you wish to (eg with dreamweaver or frontpage), then go to brochure, create a new file and add

I cannot find the 'brochure, create a new file and add'

      Thanks

That's Ok. The description isn't very complete.

What you need to do is creat a new 'fragment' template that just says "NETQUOTEVAR:INCLUDE yourfilename"

The easiest way to do this is to create a new brochure page, give it a name and then close. Then right-click the page and select 'add new fragment' and select one of the fragment layout templates (it doesn't matter which one but 'text only' is the easiest) and click the 'edit' button.

Then edit out everything except for the first and last lines and insert the NETQUOTEVAR line shown above. Then save it under a new filename (such as 'fragmentfile.html').

And that's it. You should then have a page that has the Actinic template with your own HTML files content embedded in it.

You could take a look at the help files under help>help topics>brochure. That might have the information you need.
