    Sudden PopUp page error info_.html?

    Hi all,

I have been using generated PopUps in my store now for months without issue but suddenly, I have run into strange problems.

If I create a new product, name it, give it a brief description and then click thru the tabs to Extended Information to create the popup window, the 'name' text field usually self-generates prefixing the name with info_XXXXX.html (xx being the reference name/number).

This has stopped happening and instead just info_.html is there and I get the error message,

'The specified Filename conflicts with another filename! Please enter a unique (ignoring case) file name.'

I don't usually have to enter names and I don't think I ever have entered my own custom url name here, I let Actinic take care of it.

Other strange thing is, I first became aware of a problem when uploading a new product and clicking the popup window to get only a 404 inside the popup. After looking into this, I checked via my FTP and could see the file I had named in the Actinic directory

The only thing I have changed recently is added Norman's brilliant code for seeing images in the basket and I am waiting for him to confirm that this is not adding to the PopUp issue.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Cheers,

    >Edit:

I went back and looked for info_.html in the acatalog directory and found a PopUp window from months ago which had this default name. I changed the name, it uploaded fine. I then went back to create a new product and still, no product code is entering into the url name after info_.html

So, I put a name in myself, uploaded and when I click the popup window the file is not there? Just a 404 inside the popup? Which is very odd because if you load the name itself into a new browser window it loads the missing page???

Ayy? Something funny going on here.

Heard back from Norman but he has no idea so I guess this is an Actinic issue now.

Help! I can't add any more items to my store now with popups that work?

      I am genuinely stumped.

What happens if you create a product (without creating a pop-up window) then click 'OK' and then go back into the product and try creating a pop-up window at that point?

        Go Back and ADD PopUp

        You are right Chris!

If I create a product, close and THEN add the PopUp Extended Info, it generates the name after info_ maybe I just didn't notice it before but I think I have detected something else while going through this..

If you create a new product and deselect all the boxes in the Retail row (so it's not visable to anyone who doesn't have the particular Price Schedule attached ie: 'Membership') and then upload - the PopUp window works but the file inside is a 404 missing html page.

Again, the same as above but this time, leave Reatil checked as 'Visible' so anyone can see logged in or not, the PopUp works fine and shows the file?

I am planning a whole area to be screened from anyone 'Retail' where members only can see the products. This will not work correctly if the PopUp doesn't generate the html page.

One thing I did notice too, when logged in and the product is set to be invisible to Retail, when rolling over the PopUp, the code generated in the browser status bar was simply:

        javascript:ShowPopUp('info_popuptest.html',400,400);

But when the product is checked to be viewable by Retail the javascript shows the full bb000000.pl cgi bin referral code?

        Hmm.. any ideas Chris?

        Sincerely,

        Brian

You are right Brian. This seems to be a bug in the software that means that pop-up windows do not appear to registered customers if the retail price row is not enabled. I have alerted the development team to this.

The workaround for you temporarily is to re-enable Retail and then look at the Advanced User Guide and follow the instructions there about setting up members-only sections in the store.

            PopUp Bug

            Thanks Chris,

I do have some pages I have created myself on the current site which are 'How To's' for Photoshop. You can only access these if you are logged in or you are refreshed to the login page.

I'll give it a go, I think it's the basically the same, keeping Retail out of certain 'sections'.

            Cheers

                Hi Nicola,

I'm not sure this has been fixed or not? I have just built a brand new store with the latest version of Developer and I made a private section for a colleague of mine to download images from that is only accessible to him and myself, and exactly the same thing happens?

If you get any help please let me know.

                Thanks

Also just discovered that even if I create a new product with no pop up, I'm getting my upload crash again
