Checking word index !

Now when I publish my catalog, the program is stopping a long time « Checking word index » compare to the time it took with version 4.
Is there something I can do to « reduce » the time taken ?

Have fewer words?

But seriously, how much longer is it taking in v5? Are we talking seconds longer or minutes longer? If it is siginificant then we could be looking at a problem in your application.

Also, how many products do you have in your store?

It's more in minutes than seconds.
Now I have 7000 books with a resumé of each !
I know it's « heavy »... but version 4 with the same numbers of items worked much (30 seconds compare to 2-3 minutes !
The problem is that each word is important for a book title.
You could check the site à www.secondemain.ca and click on « Entrez à la boutique » to get the catalog section.

You do have a pretty large store so a long period updating the word index could be expected.

Try going to 'Housekeeping | Compact Databases' and see if that helps the speed of it.
