Using space that is coloured in by the template

How do I utilise the space that is filled in with colour on the template? At present I have a website that doesn't use the whole page i.e. the whole site is in effect in a box. I would like to fill this dead space surrounding the box with links to other products etc.

Please help.

Sorry, thought it might be a bit unclear. Web link is http://www.4waysolutions.com/acatalog/home.html . As you can see when you load this url, the site is in effect in a box. I want to use the space outside the box i.e. the bits in purple on the far left and right of the page.

This space comes from the area around the main table in the Overall Layout Template - called 'Act_Primary.html'.

However, bear in mind that the width is currently optimised for people using 800x600 screen resolution - who would not be able to see your adverts as they would be off the screen.
