Hi

We have just transferred over to a Linux server with Rackspace. Actinic Buisness v 6.1 will not run because the Rackspace server uses perl 5.8 and cannot support Actinic, which is running a much earlier version.

A lot of companies use both Linux servers and Actinic - does anyone have a possible workaround for this. It is a serious problem. Unfortunately the Linux server cannot use a previous (much older) version of Perl.

Any help or comments really appreciated.

Actinic works fine with Perl 5.8 - I use that perl version myself on my laptop with no problems. Actinic Perl scripts support a minimum Perl version of 5.004 - but we don't have an upper limit. My guess is that something else on the server is affecting Actinic's operation.

I suggest you register an email support request at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm and someone will be able to test your site for you and get Actinic working.
