    transfering orders from v6 t v7

    Hi all

At present i am testing V7 and did the usual and exported my themes & colour schemes to V7 then transfered a snap shot and along came all the orders, now having set up discounts and tried the same products in multiple locations plus a few others things and everything is great but obviously i am still using V6 for my orders so can i transfer the orders in V6 to V7 without undoing all the work i have done.

or will i have to go through the same process while online ordering is suspended then upload the new V7 store when i have made the major changes to allow ordering while i slowly do the minor changes

    Cheers

I'm afraid you will need to suspend ordering on your site and then transfer the ActinicCatalog.mdb file from your v6 Site1 to your v7 Site1. The file will be upgraded when you start v7. You will then need to re-do any changes you made in v7.

    Sorry about that.

To transfer the orders you could export a catalog file, copy the old site over and then reimport the catalog file again, that would give you back the changes you have made.

        Thanks to you Both

i will give it some thought, it will probably be easier to put the changes in after, i only have to set up the discounts as the major change plus a bit of script editing, the rest i can do as and when

        cheers

We have found that when upgrading most of our clients have been happy to leave orders in the old version, and started anew with orders in the new version.

kind of using it as an opportunity to tidy up. In time there becomes less and less reason to keep going back to the older version
