Hi

I have just been speaking to multi-map to find out the price of some software to locate dealers.

It was more than my yearly wage.

Does anyone know where I can get a piece of software that I can use to locate dealers and show the internet users to. i.e. they type in a postcode of PE15UA and it brings up the local dealer.

www.mapquest.co.uk or http://mqdirect.mapquest.co.uk/ provides free mapping to particular locations, so you could build map to all of the locations you want, and then provide them in a form of href link based on postcodes.... an idea as opposed to paying out a year (plus) of wages to the others for mapping

Postcode anywhere have a find my nearest service - so your customer would be able to enter their postocde, a list of dealers would be displayed, you can get the grid reference from the the data supplied so you could then send that to a mapping tool such as www.streetmap.co.uk or mapquest to have the map displayed.

i use multi map for people to find our sites, i simply put a hyperlink in to multimap with the postcode in it, im sure someone with enough knowledge (not me) could write a small script that uses the same hyperlink but replaces the post code with the customer one.
