    Order Manager & Offline Orders

My Company are thinking about making the move to v7 by upgrading to Developer and using Order Manager, but I've looked at the evaluation version and there doesn't seem to be any way to raise an offline order. Has this been intentionally left out as I can see no reason why an offline order shouldnt be possible.

    TIA

You are right. The ability to enter offline orders is only available in Catalog, Business and Developer - not Order Manager.

This is due to the fact that offline orders require an up-to-date and correct catalogue of products within the application - a feature not supported by Order Manager.

If your company is considering Developer and Order Manager to operate your own sites, i.e. maintain and conduct order downloads, then all you would need is Developer as you can utilise one installation for maintenance and one other installation of the same developer for order downloads...

Upshot of this, will be that when ever (and it has to be as soon as a change is done on the live site), the 2nd machine will need its product Db updating to match, but should not be too much of an effort if this provides what you need...

I think thats allowed under the Developer licence in much the same way as for Catalog & Business, but obviously you can not provide your key for clients to use the developer as that is NOT allowed, but if it is all in-house you are on about, then can not see why this could not be an option for you...

Yes, it's all going to be in-house so running a copy of Developer with Catalog maintenance disabled would achieve what we are after easiest then.

Does anyone know if there is a v6 Business -> v7 Developer upgrade available from any reseller?

          Yup sure do.

Take a look at http://www.4surehosting.co.uk/softwa...eveloper.shtml and then click the ordering link, where you will see upgrade prices from Cat or Bus.

          Hope this helps..

Oh, thats good to know, so atleast you know that the prices we offer are real and that you do get the real/legit boxed software you order and not copies, which is what a lot of people think is the case due to our prices (i.e. it cant be real lol)

Techno and zion media have the cheapest prices. I've used both (or sent clients to both) with speedy delivery of legit software

it is cheaper for me both in £ and time to buy direct from either of the above than to become an actinic reseller!
