Is version 7 live yet or is it still undergoing testing?

version 7 is live and released.

if you have a live site running on an earlier version then actinic recommend waiting for release 7.01 as experience suggests there are always some initial teething problems after the first release.

(Although if we all wait before upgrading then no-one will find the remaining issues so they won't be fixed before 7.02 )

Dare we chance it on a busy, functional site. Is it likely to crash my website do you think or is it better to wait for version 7.01. If we are to wait how long is version 7.01 likely to be?

One feature that will allow you to conduct the upgrade is the "Test" ability within v7.

i.e. install the v7 version either using its ability to import the v6 automatically or import it via a snapshot afterwards and then use the Test mode within the Web | Switch to Test Mode option, which will upload the site to a subfolder of yourdomain.dom/acatalog/test and /acatalog again, which means you can try it all out in a test sub folder of your current account whilst your v6 goes on as normal unhindered.

WARNING: Make sure you use the Switch to Test Mode option or you will overwrite your live site on updating, but with this feature you can atleast try it out for size..
