Shipping as a percentage of total value

    Hi All,

I've created 2 shipping bands (1st class and 2nd class). I want the 1st class to be 7.5% of total value and the 2nd class to be 5% of total value. How do I achieve this?

    Hi there.

This can be done but you will have a problem if you wish to use .5 of a percent. I would suggest using round numbers, ie 8% More on this later.

Go to 'View | Business Settings | Shipping and Handling'. and switch to 'Total Value'. Add a 'Second Class Post' to the UK shipping zone. For the 'Second Class Post' class add a value of '0.00' and a cost of '0.00' Next, in the 'Excess' area, select 'Increment Highest Value in the Table' and enter '£0.05 per £1.00'

Setting up the 'First Class Post' is the same, except that you enter £0.08 per £1.00 (assuming 8% is your chosen percentage).

The reason for opting for whole numbers is that you cannot enter 0.075 into Actinic, it has too may decimal places. You could of course set up an Incremental value of '£0.75 per £10.00' for 'First Class' but you would loose accuracy.

    Hope this helps.
