    Stock control for single items

I have a lot of items that I have just one of - due to various sizes and colors - and my stock levels for these are all set to 1, with warning to be shown after 1.

I just had a customer buy ( or thought she had bought ) 3 of the same item - I had thought after the first one she would see an " out of stock " warning, and now I have to refund her for the 2 non-existent items.

Have I done something wrong - how can I avoid this happening ?

Also, if I have stock level set to 5, for other items I have more of - if someone tried to buy 6 or 7, would it let them ?

I have my items set as components/linked permutations, the choices being various sizes of an item.

Any advice gratefully received - thanks !!

    Maximum quantity

    Hi Leigh

You can set a maximum quantity for each product under Product Details|General|Maximum Quantity.

This should prevent the problem recurring.
