    Memory Leak

It would appear that there is a memory leak somewhere in v7 causing the app to crash every hour or so after intesive moving around of prodcuts. I've been working for the last few hours creating a new catalog in developer v7 from an external data source - dragging all the products into sections etc. When I open Developer it's reasonably quick (although still slower than v6) to move products but it gets progressively slower over the space of a few mins until it gets painfully slow. I eventually get a message of 'Too many open tables' and 'Out of Memory' or something along them lines before it locks up and I have to restart.

The machine i'm running on is an Athlon XP 2000+ with 1Gb of RAM and performing the same actions in v6 never used to cause any problem.

    Is this a known issue?

Another couple of new error messages shown today - all from doing the same things - moving external prods into the catalog

"Object invalid or no longer set"

            and

"Actinic was unable to determine if there are duplicate product references in the external table. External table links for products has been disabled.
            The error message reported was:

            Cannot open any more tables."

... this is getting silly now...

              External linking

Matt, I would to reproduce the problem which you are experiencing. Please can you take a snapshot and contact Support on 0845 129 4888 (say that Kevin W requested the snapshot) and upload this with the details which support give.
Can you also upload your external database and give a few steps
which cause this issue to occur ?

This is the first report of this issue. The sooner this can be reproduced the quicker it can be resolved.

              Kevin(W).

Normally with this error you can close Actinic and re-open it and try the snapshot again.

                        Kevin,

The snapshot and the external database are uploading as I type.

FYI, the DB table being used for this particular site is 'CalibreProds'

                          ... also...

I've still not managed to pin down an exact way to reproduce the problem, but as you will see, there are 6000+ products in the external database that i've had to move into the main catalog. The process of moving several hundred products in over time and moving them about seems to be the only thing that is causing the errors.

I must have recieved them error messages about a dozen times over the last couple of days while i've been moving the products into sections and re-ordering them.

Matt, thanks for uploading your store snapshot and external database. I've just tested it here moving products around over the period of an hour and cant reproduce this yet. May I ask, did you possibly have the external table open in MS Access when this occurred ?

                            Regards,

                              Hi Kevin,

The database was closed completely when I was moving products around.

I knew from prior experience that things get slow when the DB is open when Actinic is trying to use it
