changing "out stock" text

Hi can you tell me where i can change the text for "out of stock" products please. I thought it was under general information in the text options section? however when i change this text it does not change on the website when updated?

Hi Paul,

You are correct. You can edit the text 'Out of Stock' in 'Design | Text | Web Site (cont) | General Information'. But, before uploading your site, please ensure that you have enabled 'Stock Monitoring' for that product. You can do this by double-clicking a product, go to 'Stock' tab and tick 'Stock Monitoring' or 'View | Stock Levels' and select 'All Products' for 'Select Product type' and tick 'Monitored' for the products you wish to monitor stock.
Now, upload the site to web and check the results.

Note: This 'Out of Stock' message will be displayed only if the 'Stock in Hand' goes below the 'Suspended Stock Level'
(i.e., If 'Stock in hand' is 1 and 'Suspend orders if below' is 2)

You can change the text if you want to, but unless you have 'stock monitoring' enabled then it'll never show.

FYI. I don't use Actinic stock monitoring either, but if I want a product to display 'out of stock' then I turn it on for that product, set a threshhold level and set 0 stock and it then displays the message.
