    Hierarchical Import problem...

    Hello Gurus,

I export my site (upgraded from v6 to v7.01 TEST mode) to a CSV file and then open it in Excel to update all my NOT_CATALOG image mis-links. When trying to import, I get a blank field next to the "Tax treatment" Actinic field, with no apparent choice to map an appropriate import field - after the import I am being told by the program "Line 28: Wrong number of fields. Expected 59 but got 58.", "Line 29: Wrong number of fields. Expected 59 but got 58." etc, etc.

Is there a problem with the routine or am I overlooking something?

    Thanks in advance!

    I'm getting the same error,

Line 17: Wrong number of fields. Expected 78 but got 77.

Line 18: Wrong number of fields. Expected 78 but got 77.

Line 19: Wrong number of fields. Expected 78 but got 77.

Line 6: The selected layout does not exist.

I thought it might be to do with the blank column as described in Knowledge Base article 500, but thats not solved it.

    We're using SampleFlatImportFileRefs.csv

Any help would be appreciated as we've got 2500+ products to import once we get the sample sorted.

I've searched and replaced all , commas in the spreadsheet and am still getting errors similar to the ones above.

There are quite a few threads on this subject in the forum, not one of them seems to have a satisfactory answer.

Is this possible? It looks like it is in theory, but no one has managed it yet.

As a check I exported the default products as in the default site1, then imported them back in and got errors, this should not happen surely???

Then again it's a user thing, and I bet there's something really obvious that I'm doing wrong

Please tell me what it is... how did you get yours to work?

I would suggest going into the ActinicCatalog.mdb Access database and doing a find and replace in there to edit your image paths. It is in the 'Product' table. Make sure you take a backup of your database before trying this.

I just exported and imported with no problems. Could you attach a file exported from your PC to this thread and I'll have a go at importing it.

Thanks Chris, will do. I also get an error sometimes telling me that there was "an error saving changes to the database, open the database in MS Access 97 or later to fix, if you don't have a copy ring Actinic support". I have a copy of Access 2000 and will change the paths using that. Hopefully this should get rid of all errors.
          Take care

              wrong attached file

Sorry to hyjack your post Florian, but seeing as we had similar problems I thought it might help, 2 heads better than 1 etc.

Chris pse see attached file (sorry about the content )
The file is an export from Ver7 developer, when imported back in it throws errors.
              Thanks

No worries Justin, anything to get this problem solved. Not sure about the contents of the zip file though, had to amend the parental controls of my browser to be able to view!

I'd love to take credit for this but most of the flashy bits are just out of the box from the forum software providers.

I imported your file with no problems. I don't know what's happening, but I suggest setting up a quick test store with less adult products and then register a support question at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm. They will be able to test your database for you.

Please find attached a cleaned csv file.

                        It throws import errors

Line 17: Wrong number of fields. Expected 78 but got 77.

Line 18: Wrong number of fields. Expected 78 but got 77.

Line 19: Wrong number of fields. Expected 78 but got 77.

Line 20: Wrong number of fields. Expected 78 but got 77.

Line 21: Wrong number of fields. Expected 78 but got 77.

                        .......to the last line.

                        Thanks

The export file is not the issue - it is fine (at least, it imports fine into my PC). You need to register an email support request at the address given above in order for the team to see your snapshot.
