v4 migration to new operating system

Hi,

We have migrated Actinic Calalog v4 from w98 to w2k.

Snapshot failed.

As we understand things we need to copy the "site1" from the "Program Files/Actinic ecommerce v4/sites" folder, to the new installation, along with any images.

And then migrate the security/housekeeping keys.

We do not understand how to migrate the security/housekeeping keys. Can anyone enlighten us regarding:
(i) where these are located, and
(ii) how we paste these into the new installation.

Any full instructions or help regarding how this can be achieved appreciated.

How to migrate the security/housekeeping keys?

Hi Callum,

If you have Actinic open in front of you, you will need to go to the Housekeeping Tab | Click on the "Security.." option.

In the window that appears you will find the Encryption Key, Username, Password and Authorization Key. Copy these bits of information to a notepad / word document and save it. You can cut and paste this information back into Actinic once on the new machine.. Please remember to take a back-up of your Site1 foldaer before you proceed with the process of transferring over.

All I did when going from 98 to xp was to copy the site 1 details and it came up complete with order history !
I hd problems in the past and someone described the v4 snapshot as "flaky"
