Among the Actinic templates I find Act_LoginPrimary.html but haven't found a single word about it in the manual. When is it displayed, before or after a customer logs in? Thankful for an answer

It's just an overall layout template that has been optimised to look good on a login page. It has no real special properties.

A related question: Are the first page after a customer logs in script generated or are the customer simply returned to previous page? I need that entry page to show links to sections I don't want unregistered customers to see and thought that perhaps this template could be used for that. Totally wrong?

A perl script generates the first page after a customer logs in, because the moment somebody logs in, the information is encrypted. On the other hand an unregistered customer will only see a html page.

If you want certain sections of your store to be visible only to registered customers, then this topic in the advanced user guide should help you "Preventing Retail Customers from entering certain sections in your store " (page 28 in the guide).
