Hi all

the link for the V7 download page on the main actinic website is incorrect

if you click on the button marked new next to latest version V7 it takes you to the V6 download page? this link is under, support|technical support

as im here any news on the final V7.01 not the beta?

v7.0.1 will be available and a link posted here towards the end of today.

Has the upload on v7 been sorted.

I've upgraded a test site to v7.01 and its still painfully slow uploading, and I'm on Broadband.

Anyone else finding the same?

One of the fixes is to the speed of generation, so yes if you have a large site, 7.0.1 should be significantly quicker than v7.0.0.

My V6 uploads a treat, V7.01 is only marginally faster ( i have found) than Continental Drift. In a nice way of course.

Any chance of posting, or sending (to cbarling at actinic.co.uk) v6 versus v7 timings by individual step?

We have compared v6 with v7 timings extensively so maybe it's the combination of sections/products/permutations in your catalogue. Either way, if v7.0.1 is significantly worse for you than v6, we would like to explore it.

i have also been playing

as for speed of page generation V7.01 is faster than V7.0 but the upload times are really bad.

i have given up with V7.01 upload at present (not my live site yet) but by comparison to V6.1 it is a good 50% slower

i have approximately 3000 products, most hidden and brought using attributes through drop downs.

but if you want to look at the test site this took about 25 mins to upload, it is the standard shop that comes with actinic except i have changed the theme and colours. When you think there is only 15 products in this store

Could your V7 have the Compact HTML/CGI turned off? It's in Design / Options / Miscellaneous.

Just had a conversation with BT

i have had to preset the DNS servers in TCP/IP settings instead of using obtain these automatically. And it seems to be a bit better. Time will tell
