Can I have free shipping for orders over different amounts for different regions?

    Hi

We charge for shipping according to weight, but want to offer free shipping for valuable orders.

I'm looking to offer the following:
free shipping on orders over £100 in the UK mainland
free shipping on orders over £150 in Ireland
free shipping on orders over £200 in Europe.

Is there a way of doing this without giving up the basic weight based shipping calculation that we use for orders below these values?

    Hi Steve,

At the moment, in Actinic, you can have only one 'Free Shipping over £xxx'.
To offer free shipping, please go to 'View | Business Settings | Shipping and Handling | Calculation basis', tick 'Free over' and enter the order value. This will also be global throughout the whole location.

I will add this request in our Wishlist.

    Cheers,
    Cheers,

      Thanks

It seems like quite a simple request compared to some of the ones I've seen.
It would make a huge difference to us

      Much appreciated.

        Hi Steve,

You can give different shipping costs to these locations by creating a zone for each one and then specifying the costs in the class for each zone. You may need to set up each location in Advanced | Locations first. Then in View | Business Settings | Shipping & Handling set up your zones and add a class to each one so, for example:

UK - mainland your class would be something like:

        Value.........Cost
        100.00............£xxx
        100.01............£0.00

Set the excess to 'take the highest value in the table'

Do something similar for your other zones but set the free value to the relevant cost.

        I hope this helps.

          Hi TraceyG

Sorry, but I don't think you fully understood my issue.

We charge for shipping to various countries according to WEIGHT, but want to offer free shipping for valuable orders.

Sorry, my mistake . You cannot mix the shipping calculation basis so you will have to either use value or weight. If you want to carry on using the weight option then the only thing you can do is set a free shipping value for orders over a specific weight so your class grids would look something like:

            Weight............Cost
            1kg................£xxx
            2kg................£xxx
            5kg................£0.00

As Suresh mentioned in his post the 'Free over' option applies across the board.

              Wish List...

Guys, I think it's about time you added this to the wish list as we discussed this topic last year...

It's shipping industry standard to go by weight & volume, normally 333Kg per m3 and express V's groupage services can have different conversions per unit toward volumetric weight.

              (1) A matrix, per country free shipping over value X or weight Y.
              (2) Product detail, m3 (dims) or volume weight for consolidation.
              (3) Shipping method, volume weight conversion 333Kg per m3 (default) or Z, with relation to item 1 above.

I would suggest that for item one the method should have some bearing upon the breakpoint, air is more expensive than road, than sea for example so in the "shipping method" drop down 'Royal Mail' may be free but DHL £29.25 where multiple methods are available to client location / choice.

Take Spain as an example, Consignia Euro 24 service for 80Kg is about £150.00 but to send 500Kg by road costs the same, so a £2000.01 order value may qualify for free shipping where for a premium delvery service it may not be viable.

OK, to save me rambing on ... we need a more flexible shipping module and one which permits auto/semi automated drop shipping.

I have to agree, the next port of call (no pun intended) is the shipping side of things, done some great work with the discounts, coupons e.t.c but i have a similar issue with delivery, i need it to calculate by length not weight, simple you might think, take the highest value not the sum of. then with varying charges depending on location

and this was raised 18months ago and put on the wish list. This was orginally V5 when first mentioned.

Please could actinic look at this !!!

                  Cheers
                  Darren
