Exporting orders only from one copy to another

Hi,

My client has one pc for maintenance of the catalog and another pc for the downloading of orders. What's the best way of exporting just the orders from the order pc into the maintenance pc?

I would take a snapshot from the maintence machine to the order machine, tell the snapshot not to overwrite orders on the order machine. Then do a snapshot from the order machine back to the maintenance machine, and tell it to overwrite orders.

Backup both machines first

Thanks for the reply but unfortunately I can't see an option not to overwrite orders when I import the snapshot. Is this option available in version 5 or was it introduced later? Coincidentally the site in question is hosted with yourselves

Sorry, I think the overwrite orders feature must have been introduced in v6.

If the computers are networked then look at this thread 'Network Workaround' which will give an easy to work solution.

Thanks for the Network Workaround info, Mick.

In the end I had to create an "archive" snapshot with the old orders on and then start afresh with the new orders. I think it's time for my client to upgrade from v5 to v7 because the facility to leave orders intact when importing snapshots would've been very handy in this instance!
