Empty product groups

I have just upgraded one of our shop sites under development from V6 to V7.01 and uploaded the entire site. Early in the upload I got this message:

The following empty product groups have been defined:
Example Product Group

I can't find this group. Any ideas about this please?

I seen this on a site I upgraded for testing.

We have exactly the same message everytime we upload. This was with a brand new v7.0.1 install, as well as after importing a v6 snapshot.

After a while we just ticked the 'Ignore in future' tickbox and it went away (well, at least the warning did )

This error doesn't seem to have an adverse effect on the functioning of our store though

I think this is a left-over from the Demo Site that comes with a fresh evaluation install of V7.

If you evaluate a Business you have this group pre-set and it can be deleted via View / Product Groups.

However if you only use Catalog then it may stay defined but unalterable (as that View is unavilable in Catalog so you can't delete it).

I can confirm that if you are using Actinic Catalog, and you remove the default store and upload, you will receive the 'Empty Products Group' error message.

As Norman says, this is a leftover from the demonstration product store. Fortunately, you can just select the 'Do not show this message again' box to never see this warning again.

If you really want to remove the example group from the database, open up ActinicCatalog.mdb and remove the record in the 'DiscountProductGroups' table.

I'll let the develoment team know so we can remove this error in the next maintenance release of v7.

If you really want to remove the example group from the database, open up ActinicCatalog.mdb and remove the record in the 'DiscountProductGroups' table.

... or you could just View->Product Groups and delete the Example Product Group there...
