Help required setting up a test site for a different PSP method

Hi - my client currently uses Actinic SSL to take credit card details for orders.

HSBC have just started piloting a new payment processing system which they would like my client's site to participate in.

Therefore I need to modify the site to take payments through the HSBC payments system for testing, whilst still allowing live customers to continue making payments through the existing method.

Is there an easy way to do this or do I need to set up a totally seperate site for testing? If so, do I need to purchase another copy of Actinic Business?

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

    regards
    David

You will need to set up an alternative site for testing and you will need a different license for this.

Although it is possible to have multiple PSPs for an online store, I would argue it is unwise to carry out the necessary script changes on a site where orders are currently being taken.

One note: We do have a PSP Toolkit available for purchase, which is an integration kit. We would normally sell this to the Payment Service Provider though - it is unusual for someone to develop their own interface from Actinic to a brand new PSP.

Thanks Chris - I believe that HSBC are in talks with Actinic to have an interface built into catalog/business/developer.

At the moment this is only in pilot. For this pilot HSBC have suggested taking the pages generated from the Worldpay interface and substituting the HSBC form fields names.

If I was to do this would my modified PSP pages, containing HSBC form field names, get overwritten with the worldpay coded pages everytime that I uploaded the site?

Yes they would, but only if you make a global design change, or a change to your network settings. The PSP page will not be affected by simple changes to the product catalogue.
