    Different destination page after login

    Hi,

Hopefully someone can help me. I have read p62 of the Advanced user guide (Putting a Login page anywhere on your site), however I am having a problem redirecting the user to a different page once they have entered their username and password and clicked 'login'.

I want to direct them to a custom page I have created, however when I change the Actinic referrer on the login page to say...http://www.domain.co.uk/acatalog/page.html it ignores this and goes to what i think is acatalog/catalogbody.html. Does anyone know how I change this destination page?

Also, once users have logged in can can they access other areas of my site outside of the catalog without them needing to log back in. I am looking to create dreamweaver custom pages with 'buy' buttons that link to the shopping cart (hence they don't use the Actinic templates), however if users will have to log in each time they try to access a script that will obviously not work.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi Pete

This kb article describes a simple way to change the target page after logging in. Use a similar link to the one given in the article and hardcode the login button destination.

Once the customer is logged in, Actinic uses the bbxxxxxx.pl script and referrer information to navigate the site. I don't know of a way to keep someone logged in whilst navigating outside of the Actinic pages without changing all of the default links.

Thanks Ben. Very helpful I'll give that a try.

Didn't think it would be possible to navigate away from acatalog once you are logged in. Will have to find another way to do it.

      Thanks again.

Hi... this is exactly what I'm trying to achieve. However the above link in Ben's post is broken. Does anybody know how to change the default page that a customer lands on after logging in?

        Thanks in advance, Rob.
