    Discounting in catalog?

I have a range of items on my web site that I can not rise the price but can not discount either. The rest of the site I want to discount.
Have set up 10% @ £100 and 15% @ £200 but I want to stop the discount on one range is it possible?

    Many Thanks

    Andy

This is possible, but you will have to set it up under cart contents and not order level.

then you must put your products into groups, i use a similar set up and have 2 groups one called discountable products the other non-discountable products.

The only problem with this is you will get the discount shown under each item instead of at the bottom of the list of products, to get this you will need to use a modified actinicorder.pm file and set up a custom variance

have a look at this thread for more details on setting this up

if you need anymore help let me know

I have requested this be set up under order level and then restricted by product group but no one at actinic can see the reason, you are the second person to need it done this way

    Cheers

Actually we can see the reason (that's why we are going to include the referred fix into v7.0.2) but we believe the solution is not the application of product groups as a restriction on order level discounts. As I have said before the order level discount is designed to operate on the cart total. Therefore it shouldn't know about the cart content which makes up that total. If you need a discount set up on different groups of products then the product level discount should be used as it is designed for that. Sorry if this makes any trouble for you.

Thank you both for the reply's

I think I understand that you both are talking about 'business' not 'catalogue'
I've only started online in March this year and did not want the expense of 'bussiness' just yet, but with one brand i wanted to offer it online without discounts while all the other brands can have big discounts. Is there a way round this or should I change all the none discount items to 'please ring to order' which is a pooh option!

You are right. Unfortunately the mentioned feature is not available in Catalog only in Business. I don't know exactly our pricing but I believe it worth considering the upgrade.

sorry i forgot to mention that the fix for the consolidation of discount was in the V7.0.2 release.

And i do understand your comments, i just never thought of it as simply take order total and apply x discount, i see that what you mean, what is in the basket is of no relevance just the value

            cheers
