    Repetitive 'Test' Emails from server

    Hi

A client of mine has been experiencing a problem with his new site just upgraded to V7.0.1 from V6.1.4.

He is periodically (a few times a day) receiving the same 'test' email generated when a 'Test' under Advanced | Network Settings is run.

This is not a result of an upload error as they have been arriving in the middle of the night when he's not even awake!

Can anyone suggest how this might be happening - the only other similar thing to this that I can think of is when a cgi form processing script is 'compromised' and used to send SPAM out.
I have checked all these thoroughly however (and even removed them from the server to be sure) and the issue is still occurring.

Could one of the Actinic perl scripts be 'confused'?

    Any ideas welcome!

    Jos

    Hi

Have you checked with your hosting company about this ? Also, can you let me know your client's URL, so I can check the error log ?

      Hi Krithika

I've checked with the ISP and there are no other files in the CGI-BIN other than the Actinic generated ones - which means it must be one of these generating it...

The URL is http://www.purplepleasures.com (note : adult content)

      Cheers

        Hi

You could try replacing the perl scripts in the Site 1 folder.

        Please follow these steps :

        1. Browse to C:\Program Files\ActinicEcommerceV7\Sites\Site 1 and select all files with .pl and .pm extensions. Delete them.

        2. Now double click on the Original folder (above the Site1 folder) Select all .pl and .pm files. Copy them and paste them into the Site 1 folder.

        3. Now refresh the site from Web | Refresh Website in Actinic.

Let me know if this helped.

        Cheers
