Restricting digital download on order method

Hi there

Is it possible to restrict the download of a digital item depending on the pending the receipt of funds?

My client would like to be able to offer a facility to order a digital item but pay by non-electronic means (cheque / postal order for example)

At the moment, irrespective of which payment method is selected (c/c details sent separately / invoice with order etc) the link to download the selected item is still shown and the customer can receive the goods without paying for them.

Any ideas?

Yes it is possible. To do this set the "File download expiry time" to zero under the heading "Digital Download" in View|Business Settings|Ordering. This will stop the link from appearing on the receipt page.

This is great but it sets it for all digitally downloadable items across the store...

Ideally this needs to be settable on a product by product basis as there may be other items that, once paid for online CAN be downloaded...

Any ideas?

How does this help?

How do you then figure out what the link is for the download? Doesn't this effectively make Actinic redundant for Digital Download sales?

Hi Jim

You will only get the download link on the reciept page. So with digital download you would use a payment service provider to take the money, then you wil get the receipt page with the link.
