Is there any way of adding a hits counter to our website.

Seeing as how you replied to my thread, I thought I would do the same!
Do you have some sort of home page that everyone comes to your site through? If you do then its easy to add a counter (there are loads of sites out there offering free counter scripts, some of which come with graphics, others let you make your own to integrate within your existing design). Obviously if you apply it to a shop template it will rack up to silly numbers quite quickly as each time the template is used it will add another 'hit'. No good if you use 1 template through the bulk of your store.
For what its worth I would make sure that no counter is visible.
If it is low it puts people off - if it is high your competitors will pick your ideas!
On the other hand site stats are essential. Most sites will provide a log such as access.log.gz. Then you can use Webalizer Version 2.01 or www.weblogexpert.com
Thanks guys I will try adding one tonight and see what happens
