Free upgrade

I bought Actinic Audio Store on 18/05/04 and i was told i was entitled to a free upgrade when version 7 came out. I was advised that i could upgrade now so i sent in my invoice and reg key and i got back the following e-mail:

I have received your e-mail, unfortunately Actinic have not yet released a
version 7 of Actinic Audio store, this should be available in 1-2 months.

You mention you are eligable for a free upgrade, please advise under which
grounds.

can someone please advise me of my entitlements, it seems a bit unfair if this is the case.

Why did you not just reply to my e-mail. All I needed was the grounds for which you were entitled to a free upgrade, your fax did not mention this and the invoice was unreadable, you mention that you purchased the version 6 product in May, if this is correct then you are entitled to a free upgrade of Version 7 Audio Store when it is released. Alternativly you can upgrade to Actinic Catalog plus Digital Download now, which will allow you to run your store using version 7.

I did reply to yor e-mail, i didnt realise yu were double jobbing though i am sorry. I though this was for tech support and you were sales, i was ready for the usual thing of being bounced around from one to the other, although i have never had any problems with actinic at all, a very good experience so far. So sorry for any confusion or anything else.

So what woulld you recommend i do? I am not sure. My sotre must be up and running on the 1st of august.

Do you actually need the features in v7 in order for your store to go live on 1st August?

If you don't then I suggest you don't worry about upgrading now, as the upgrade process can often take a little while to get your customisations working in the new version.

One the store is live, you can get hold of your v7 upgrade (by either getting Catalog v7 with Digital Download soon or Audio Store v7 later on) and then use v7's 'Switch to Test Mode' feature to get your store data working in the v7 correctly before you go live and replace your live v6 store.

i will do that so, thanks. Is there a date set for audio store release of 7? i presume it will be posted here when it i available. can i export my settings in version 6 and then import them in version 7?

No. It will be released when 7.0.2 gets released - which will be a couple of months probably.

Yes - go to 'File | Snapshot | Export Site' in v6 and then go to 'File | Snapshot | Import Site' in v7.
