    More VAT

Why is it that an item costing £1750 and an item costing £125 display correctly as individual items on the normal VAT calculation, but when the cheaper one becomes an associated product with linked pricing it become 1p out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Any ideas

It must be something to do with how v5 rounds up/down the VAT on the order. What type of Tax are you using? What rounding rule are you using?

In other words, the total VAT it gets from the two lines together gets rounded differently then when VAT is calculated, rounded and added together on the two lines separately.

I have just tried your prices with v6 and I get the same totals when I order separately or order together.

It is Round line Scientific v3. After further investigation v5, it seems as if doesn't take the VAT of the associated product. In one product the individual items work correctly, add 1 or other assocated products works correctly, add both associated products then the total is 1p out. Some are using forced VAT amounts and some generated, eg http://www.dhleisureandgarden.com/te...he_Jungle.html (don't check out)
Then thought it makes more sense to update to V6 (hence additional posting) but the templates crashed around my ears! The reason being that the associated products can be assigned using their own VAT.
        Any suggestions Chris?

I'm afriad I'm getting a bit lost. I have had a look at your store but cannot see where or how the error is occurring. I am not a tax expert by any means and it has been a while since my Maths A-Level.

Version 6 lets you do two things

          1) The component can inherit the tax status from its associated product (in case it has a different tax status from that of the main product)

          2) The component can be displayed as a seperate order line.

I don't think either of these will affect your problem.

My only suggestion is to try all the different rounding modes and see which one works out your figures in teh way you want. I would sugest trying the 'Round Item' rather than 'Round Line' as this will work out the VAT on each item seperately and then round it and add it together.
