Generic mass discount code

We have upgraded to Dev 7 today and I would like to set up a generic mass discount code for the users, one which does not require setting up a customer account.

We have a code printed on the back of our catalog, but the discount process confuses the customer understandably. I set up an account called "catalog customer", etc.

How do I use the new discounting function to show a customer that I cannot pre-determine a 10% discount? Is the only way to use the "coupon" function?

Hi

Click on View | Discounts and Surcharges Settings. Select the Order Level tab. Here you can set a fixed discount percentage based on the customer's cart value and have it triggered by a coupon.
