    Click-through counters?

    Hi

Does anyone out there know a quick easy way of adding counters to links, such that click-throughs to links off-site can be tracked? I have a links page with various stuff on it, and it would be nice to know what, if anything, people actually click on.

    regards

I am pretty sure you can use the referrer script to do this

Hmm - I'm not sure the referrer script is the ideal solution, as it sounds like Nick is wanting to see how many people click on certain links in the Actinic store that take them to other non-Actinic sites.

I can't really give any advice as this is a non-Actinic issue. I googled for a bit and came up with http://www.perlarchive.com/Counters/...ng/index.shtml which seems to have some free scripts to use.

There are plenty of scripts around for doing that. Just watch out that you don't mess about with any link partners you may have by blocking the pagerank transfer that goes with a link.

In general I'd advise against using such tools unless there's a strong business need.
