Produce either a paper or CD catalogue from Actinic

Is it possible to produce either a paper catalogue or CD of my actinic sites.

We get lots of calls for a catalogue to be sent but cannot figure out how to oblige. Using Cat & Business ver 6.1.4

Can I grab HTLM files and transfer into word or PDF?

    Confused

    Hi Chris

The Catalog Summary report in Actinic may be of help to you. You can generate this report from the "Catalog" tab of Reports|Report Selection in Actinic

      Chris,

To create a CD version of the catalog you could just do a preview of the site and burn all the files in your 'Preview HTML' folder to CD - i'm sure there's a fancy helper app somewhere that will sort out making the P_index.html autorun. As far as a paper copy goes... the reports are about all that are available unless you find someone to commision a custom catalog report for you.

        Many thanks Kiran

What I was really looking for was simular to the summary report but including both pictures and product discription.

Could this be extracted from the Acess database?

Regarding the CD, This would be a great marketing / Sales tool to send out to the larger customers

Yes - you can write a query, or even a report, within the ActinicCatalog.mdb database to get the data you need - although many think it is safer to create an external database that links to the tables in the Actinic ActinicCatalog.mdb database, and then create queries and reports within that. I'm not sure images will appear within crystal reports unless they are in the *.bmp format.

Altho if planning to do this, avoid using HTML in product descriptions (ie: via !!< <HTML> >!!) as it'll just show the raw html source in your printout... unless you find a way to strip the HTML out.

Personally, I use different themes. I have a theme designed specifically so it laysout perfectly when printed on an A4 sheet, and another theme for the site. I just flip between the two depending what I need to do, and print directly from FireFox / IE
            Cheers!
