It is indeed realtime obviously you need to refresh your browser to see the updated stats. We have this running on every page on the website. I also run the log files through weblog to check. When we originally set this up we used freecounter the website was so slow so we installed pphlogger it basically is the webstats website.

pphlogger If you have a mysql database & php on your server you could run it off your site.

We have been running the webstats counter on our site since 16/06/2004 & have received over 43500 hits on the site. When I initally installed it we instantly could see how many people were on the site & which pages they were on. It actually only holds current people on the site for 15minutes if you read the screens...

Webstats is not in anyway related to our company Its just I was looking for a stats site that didnt stop when you logged on.

    Thanks

I figured out why - I copied the js file to my server but forgot to upload it...

Although that does beg the question how two sets of stats managed to get onto the site before it was uploaded...???

Do you have any idea what the company does with your details? The T&C's were a bit vague as too what they would use the info for...

The only problem with this software is if the customer has IE set to tell them about cookies it pops up a window telling them that websitestatistics.com is trying to put a cookie on their site to track them...

NOt sure how much use this product is. I had one user on the site last night, but because they were using AOL each time they loaded a page it seemed to go through a different caching/proxy server so it made it difficult to trace the persons path, and the 1 user showed up as 11 unique users...

So once the server gets multiple users the tracking ability and stats would become pretty much meaningless, except for who happens to be on the site at the time.

That is the whole point in proxy servers.. this also happens when checking log files.
There is an easy solution if you dont like it dont use it seeing as its free open source or alternatively go & buy something that might do what you want.
It does what it says it does on the tin if a user is using a proxy server the whole point in a proxy server is to Stop tracking systems for anonymous websurfing.
